Hire A Creative Pause
Most events give people something to watch, eat, or listen to. A Creative Pause gives them something to create — together. It's a shared painting experience that asks everyone in the room to put down their phone, pick up a brush, and contribute to something that didn't exist before they arrived.
No experience or artistic ability required. Just an open mind and a willingness to be surprised by yourself.
Please note that I am based in Norfolk, in the UK but will travel.
THE EXPERIENCE
Everyone works on
one piece.
That's the thing that makes this different. There's no individual canvas to hide behind, no comparison, no hierarchy of skill. Everyone — from the CEO to the newest team member, from the grandmother to the five-year-old — is working on the same piece of paper.
Something happens when people make things together. Conversations start differently. People relax into themselves. The usual dynamics of a room shift. What you're left with at the end isn't just a piece of art — it's a record of a moment that genuinely brought people together.
It photographs beautifully. It has a habit of going viral. I prefer to think of that as a happy side effect. Presence comes first.
I lead the session from start to finish, bringing all materials and guiding the group through the process with warmth and a light touch. You bring the people and I'll take care of the rest.

Where it works beautifully
Brand & Product Launches
For brands that want their launch to feel like an experience rather than an event. A Creative Pause adds warmth, creativity, and a genuinely shareable moment — guests leave having made something connected to your brand, together. For events that include a meal, you have the option to then use your creation as a beautiful and unexpected table covering. Did I mention it photographs beautifully?
Team Building
A genuinely levelling experience for teams. When everyone is a beginner, something shifts. Walls come down, conversations open up, and people see each other a little differently. A Creative Pause makes for a team building session people actually talk about afterwards.
Celebrations
Birthdays, hen dos, family gatherings — occasions where the people matter more than the activity. Creating something together becomes part of the story of the day. Something made, something kept, something remembered.
Family Events
One of the loveliest things about a shared canvas is what it does across generations. Children and grandparents working side by side, no one more capable than anyone else. The finished piece becomes a family keepsake.
A NATURAL FIT
Retreats
There's something particularly powerful and fitting about bringing a shared creative experience to a retreat. The people in the room are already there — already slowed down, already open. Adding a Creative Pause session creates a moment of genuine connection and expression that sits beautifully alongside the reflective work a retreat is designed to do.
I've been invited to bring this experience to retreats beyond Norwich — including a session in Wales this autumn — and it's some of the most rewarding work I do. If you're organising a retreat and looking for something that will stay with your guests long after they leave, I'd love to talk.
